Being sick is very inconvenient. But do you know what it worse than being sick? Being sick and having dental issues. Unfortunately, if you’re not careful, you can suffer dental problems while you’re curled up in your blankets cuddling your tissue box. So, it’s important to do all you can to keep your teeth and gums in tip-top shape while you’re sick. To help you do so, our dentist, Dr. Danton Bradshaw, encourages you to do the following things:
-Brush your teeth twice a day and floss your teeth once a day. Doing these things can keep your teeth and gums clean, which is especially important if you take sugary medicine.
-Drink a lot of water. This can help you get over your sickness quicker, stay hydrated, and keep bacteria away from your mouth. It can also help you prevent dry mouth.
-Throw your toothbrush away when you are better. This can help you avoid getting sick again because you won’t be using the same toothbrush.
-Keep bacteria away from your mouth by gargling with saltwater or by rinsing your mouth with antibacterial mouthwash. This can help you keep your mouth healthy and clean.
